The emergency department (ED) at Glen Cove Hospital sees nearly 19,000 patients a year. With an eight-minute door to doctor time, our highly trained staff—board-certified physicians in emergency medicine and registered nurses certified in emergency and trauma care—treat routine emergency and urgent care patients as well as those with the most complicated conditions. We also offer a well-equipped intensive care unit (ICU) and state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility.

Our ED is supported by a clinical decision unit (CDU), which provides care beyond traditional emergency care. The unit caters to the unique needs of our frail geriatric patients. Many of our staff members have been trained and qualified by the Alzheimer’s Foundation as dementia care providers and dementia care specialists.
