Hospitalists are board-certified physicians who work primarily in the hospital, providing care for hospitalized patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These doctors specialize in caring for hospitalized patients. They are available to admit and care for patients throughout their hospital stay, along with communicating with the patient's primary care physician. They are trained and available to respond to any emergency that occurs within the hospital.
Our hospitalists, in collaboration with physicians from the community, staff and run our new Clinical Decision Unit. They provide the most up-to-date medical care in a timely fashion to patients who require a longer stay than their Emergency Department visit. With additional services such as case management, social work and home care services, they are able to safely expedite transition of patients back into the community.
